Everyone is welcome to join us on Wednesday December 4th to decorate the church for the Christmas season. The decorating even wll take the place of the normal Wednesday night service for that week.
In honor of those who have recently passed away; David A. Frary and Staff of the Phillips Memorial Home, invite you to share in a Remembrance Service to commemorate the life of your loved one on Sunday December 8th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Congregational Church 40 West Orvis Street, Massena NY. Please invite other family members to attend our service for a time of Reflection and Remembrance. Light refreshments to follow along with receiving a commemorative ornament of your loved one.
On December 11th there will be a candlelight Taizé service at 7:30. This service will be in place of our "Blue Christmas Service." We recognize the Christmas season is not always easy. If you are looking for a more quiet, reflective time of worship, come join us for the Taize worship. This will also replace the normal Wednesday night service for that week.
Taizé Prayer is an ecumenical form of prayer meant to foster reconciliation and peace among all people. Christians of all traditions share in this ecumenical group. Taizé Prayer is meditative common prayer. Gathered in the presence of Christ, we sing uncomplicated repetitive songs, uncluttered by too many words, allowing the mystery of God to become tangible through the beauty of simplicity.
